What's Been Going on at School?

As you may know, I am working towards a bachelor's degree in Film and Television at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) on their Atlanta campus.
I am just going into my senior year, and I can say without hesitation that my experience here has been exceptional in terms of the quality of education, networking opportunities, and realizing my creative potential. I've had a chance to get experience in making my short films (see my latest, We Apologize for the Inconvenience) as well as lending a hand making films with other students.
I attended a party SCAD just had last week celebrating its inclusion in all five of the Hollywood Reporter's top entertainment rankings. This school is extremely reputable and for very good reason!
This quarter I'm taking classes in film analysis, directing actors, and digital communication. Here's a summary:
FILM ANALYSIS
A fun and communal class so far. It's encouraged me to watch more films, to watch more kinds of films, and to have insightful conversations about them.
DIRECTING ACTORS
Being an aspiring writer-director, this class and its content seem very essential to me. I have to become an actor as a part of this class. Though I currently have no plans to ever put myself in a position to act for the camera after this, I feel that getting this kind of experience will help me have a better idea as to how actors tend to think and how I might communicate to them on set.
DIGITAL COMMUNICATION
This class covers a broad subject. We've had discussions on the role that online influencers have in society, the practical and psychological distinction between traditional and digital media. We're also exploring the more aesthetic side of the process.
I'll be posting some of the art I create here at school as the quarter progresses. Don't miss it!
